Cilka Odar - Tatjana

Bright marble plaque with an engraved dedication to Cilka Odar – Tatjana.

Cilka Odar-Tatjana, born on 19th November 1919, worked as an illegal in the area of Krope; she was a secretary of the Anti-Fascist League and a member of the district committee of the OF for Kranj. She fell together with Vida Šinkovec-Janina on 19th April 1945 at Lajše above Selca. Her body was brutally defiled by whiteguards before burial.

The text for the memorial plaque was composed by Črtomir Zorec. It was unveiled on 4th July 1958.

Today's kindergarten «Sonček», on which the memorial plaque of Cilka Odar-Tatjana is located, has carried the name «Cilke Odar-Tatjane» from its establishment in 1958 until the independence of Slovenia (after 1991).

In Kranj there is a street named Tatjana Odrova.
