Memorial Plate for the Fallen for Austria

A memorial plaque for Franz Josef Kalis, Karl Krivanek and Johann Sokopp was placed by the Austrian Resistance Fighters and Victims of Fascism (KZ-Verband) on 26 October 1952 at the municipal residential complex in Hasengasse in the district of Favoriten. Franz Josef Kalis (born 29 March 1899), Karl Krivanek (born 25 June 1903) and Johann Sokopp (born 6 May 1913) were Resistance fighters against National Socialism from the ranks of the Communist Party of Austria (KPÖ). The three officials were sentenced to death by NS justice for preparation of high treason and beheaded at the Vienna Regional Court: Franz Josef Kalis on 8 October 1943, Karl Krivanek on 15 February 1943 and Johann Sokopp on 24 May 1944.
