Cinkarna Celje

On the chimney of the old workshop of Cinkarne, a commemorative plaque mentioned the 24 fallen members of the collective was unveiled in memory. The Organization OF was established in Cinkarne in 1941. After the May 1942 uprising and the shooting of the workers, a standstill occurred. The Organization OF was re-established in autumn 1944, when the Workers' Unity Committee was established in the factory. In May 1945, the factory was taken over and protected from destruction by the Workers' Unit of the National Liberation Army. The plaque was installed by the collective itself. After the destruction of the old chimney, the plaque was stored. In agreement with ZB NOB Gaberje and the leadership of Cinkarne, the plaque was restored and installed within the framework of Cinkarne on the grassy area near the entrance. The plaque is placed on supports made of non-corrosive material.
