Bojanja vas - Memorial to NOB

6.30.1942 fourteen soldiers from the village joined the fighters of the 1st battalion
of the forming Belokrajnski detachment. This did not remain hidden from the Italian army
from nearby Radatovičev, which broke into the village in the early morning hours of August 7th
and almost completely burned it down. Forty-one houses and 150 farm buildings were burned down
along with tools and food supplies.

The memorial of the burned village was made according to the idea of Milan Bajc. The plaques
made from old weapons, were made by Tone Svetina. It was unveiled on July 22nd, 1977.

On the stone wall, which represents the ruins of the burned houses, a memorial plaque and sculpture
made from the remnants of weapons are attached. The authors of the memorial are T. Svetina, M. Bajc and V. Kepic. It was installed in 1977.

On August 7th, 1942 the Italians burned the village: 41 houses and 110 farm buildings.
