Football Club Bela Krajina was founded in 1926. During the war it ceased its activities, the last match was played in August 1941 in Novo Mesto. After the match, Vlado Mišica said that it had been the last match of the club, as the club would respond to the call of OF for resistance against the occupation (as did others – cultural silence).
During the war some members of the club joined the resistance within the framework of OF, among them some gave their lives for freedom.
In memory of the fallen members, Football Club Bela Krajina unveiled a monument on 21. 7. 1954, whose conceptual design was made by ing. arch. Jurij Jaklič. According to another source, the unveiling (renewed?) of the monument was in 1985. (MK)
