A few meters away towards the south, on the wall, there is a German memorial in the shape
of a cross with the inscription UNSERE GEFALLENEN 1939--1945 and Sie starben als Opfer und mahnen
für den Frieden [Umrli so kot žrtve in opominjajo k miru] with 57 names. It was erected
in 1950 by the Carinthian Association for Victims of War, local group Faaker See
(Kärntner Kriegsopferverband Ortsgruppe Faaker See).  Mostly it consists of German
soldiers who fell during the Second World War, among them are also two names of Slovenian
anti-fascists: Josef Blenkusch and Josef Matschitsch:

Jožef
Blenkuš (6. 9. 1914 Podgorje -- killed 22. 11. 1940 in Berlin, because he did not
want to salute Hitler, although his mother came to Berlin to have him do so)

Jožef Mačič (30. 8. 1904
Rute -- killed 27. 4. 1944 in Celovac as a deserter, after he was betrayed by his neighbor)

Third resistance fighter against fascism
Jožef Noč (28. 4.
1926 Rute -- killed 3. 7. 1944 in Gradac), who was otherwise in the SS, but
he supplied food to a German deserter
which was discovered, and he was therefore executed, it is not mentioned on the memorial.
