Bukovščica, Memorial to the Miners' Sabotage Unit

Grintavec, has been residing in the camp Kerbule since August 1943 and operated from the area
of Hrastnik and Križna Gora. His target was the railway line Škofja Loka–Radovljica and the road through Soteska into the Selška valley. Thus, in September 1943
he attacked the railway station Sv. Jošt, in October he attacked the railway line twice
between Škofja Loka and Kranjska and caused the derailment of a train and destruction of wagons
in November he caused the derailment of a train on the line under Sv. Jošt, and in December he
destroyed the line near Kranjska. In 1944 he also attacked the road into the Selška valley and in January
he burned a reserve bridge structure in Dolenji vas, in March he attacked the German outpost and four army trucks, in April he attacked the partisans on Križna Gora.

The first commander was Jože Rebolj – Planinc, and the first political commissar was Jože Pintar.

On 7 March 1944 the commander changed his name to the 1st
miners' squad of Gorenjski odred, «Grintavec», numbering around thirty fighters.
The squad left the area of Hrastnik in the summer of 1944 and split into Kokrški and
Škofjeloški odred.
