Gedenkstätte am Friedhof Ferlach/Borovlje

When the old city cemetery in Ferlach was dissolved in 1959, the Association of Carinthian Partisans had the 49 Partisans buried there relocated to the new cemetery and erected a memorial site in the southern part of the cemetery. To the right, a monument with a stone base and a tall metal sculpture was erected in memory of 180 fallen Partisans of the Bračic Brigades, who died during battles at the Draubrücke towards the end of the war. Next to it, the town of Ferlach unveiled a third monument in 1966, dedicated to the victims of the Austrian freedom struggle. Thus, a tripartite memorial site was created, commemorating different victims of the NS regime, arranged in a semicircle on a paved area within the cemetery grounds.
