The monument represents a wooden relief, which depicts a skier jumper during a jump.
It is dedicated to the partisan ski competition, which took place on 20th and 21st January 1945 in the vicinity of Cerkno in three disciplines, ski patrolling, giant slalom, and ski jumping. The latter took place in the vicinity of the monument.
Locals say that these were the first partisan ski competitions in occupied Europe.
The monument was made by the Rokodelsko društvo Driklc, Cerkno (a society that preserves a rich cultural heritage, nurtures and promotes handicraft, and presents handicraft knowledge and products).
This event was already commemorated by a memorial plaque on the new primary school, which was removed and is currently in the museum in Cerkno.
Discovery: Google maps in 2013 did not show the monument, but in 2021 the monument was already on the building.
