July 10, 1944, German and Ustaša units numbered around 4,000 men. From the direction of Karlovac, they began an attack on the liberated territory of Žumberak and the northern part of the Bled region. In defensive battles for Metlika, Peter Racman, a member of the 1st squad of the 1st battalion of Cankarjeva brigade, fell on July 17, 1944. In his memory, a monument was unveiled at the chapel on November 22, 1975, according to the design of Milan Bajc.

On a roughly shaped rectangular stone block, the inscription reads: "Here, 1944, fell the fighter of Cankarjeva brigade." The monument was erected in 1975s, arh. Milan Bajc.
