Angela Piskernik, survived camp Ravensbück

This spring, on the Austrian Carinthian territory, in the Iron Chapel, near her birthplace, botanist, initiator of nature conservation, advocate of women's rights, champion of a just society and prisoner in the Ravensbrück camp, Dr. Angela Piskernik received her memorial plaque on the wall of the parish hall. The unveiling took place on 29th May 2015, and on the plaque, as initiators, are listed the Slovene Enlightenment Society Zarja from the Iron Chapel, the Club of Carinthian Slovenes in Ljubljana, and the Club 99. The plaque was designed by the Carinthian Slovenian architect and visual artist Mag. Karl Vouk. In the background, among gently green leaves of the primordial tree, is a portrait of the young Angele, who left these roots to go into the world of science and culture.
