Čurile - Memorial Plaque for the Victims of the Activists

The Belogardists killed Janez Nemanič and Janez Pečarič in Čurilah. On partially shaped stone, there is an inscription dedicated to the partisans who were killed at this place in 1943. The monument was designed by Milan Bajc and was erected in 1982.

Due to their collaboration in the liberation movement and because they were their closest relatives in the partisans, the Belogardists—local inhabitants—revenged themselves on Janez Nemanič and Janez Pečarič in Čurilah. They killed the first one on 10 January, and the second one on 29 May 1943.
The memorial plaque, built into natural rock, was made according to the idea of Milan Bajc, stands under the road near the shop in Čurilah. It was unveiled by ZB NOV Čurila on 22 July 1982.
