CESTA-DOBREPOLJE Memorial to the Miklič Family

On the site of Miklič's home in the village of Cesta, a memorial plaque was unveiled on 29th May 1983
on the initiative of the Committee of the Week of Traditions of NOB at KO ZB NOV
Dobrepolje. According to the design of Ignac Miklič, it was made by the company Mineral in
Ljubljana. The author was Dr. Avguštin Lah
Jože Miklič, born 11th July 1922, lived in Ljubljana until the end of 1941 and then returned home. On 28th April 1942, the first unit of the Dolenjski Battalion came to the Dobrpoljsko valley and Jože immediately joined it. After the Italian
capitulation, he became a commissar of the IX. brigade. He fell on 28th June 1944 in Stehanji village.
The memorial plaque was made of dark marble, dimensions 60x14,7x15 cm. The engraved letters are highlighted with red colour, which has slightly faded.

Textual location description
S ceste Predstruge - Zdenska vas se zavije preko železniške proge v vas Cesta in se držite desne smeri. Nasproti hišne številke se zavije desno v hrib in iz asfalta pridete na makadam. Okoli 30 metrov od začetka je na levi strani odtočni kanal v katerega pelje kanaleta na cestišču. S tega mesta se na levi strani na pobočju, v precej zaraščeni travi, opazi spominsko obeležje.
