Aleš Bebler, Nova Gorica

The monument is a bronze statue erected on a stone pedestal. It is the work of sculptor Marjan Keršič, and was erected on 27.4.1982. At that time, the building for the monument was the building of all socio-political organizations in Nova Gorica, and it was precisely the socio-political organizations that erected the monument one year after Bebler's death. It was unveiled during a ceremony on the day of the OF. The ceremonial speaker was the secretary of the CK ZKS Miha Ravnik, and the statue was unveiled by Lidija Šentjurc, a member of the federation council. The cultural program was organized by peace singers, anhovska music and actors from the Nova Gorica PDG.

From articles in the Primorske novice (30.4.1982) and Primorski dnevnik (27.4.1982) it is clear that the monument was actually unveiled on the evening of Monday, 26 April.

The national hero was proclaimed in 1953.
