Dolenje Zabukovje pri Trebelnem - memorial to the establishment and activity of the Mokronoska partisan unit

Monument, a concrete block with a relief sculpture of a man in natural size, is
dedicated to the founding and activities of the Mokronos partisan unit in the autumn
of 1941. The monument was erected in 1981.

      «In Zgornjem Zabukovju near Trebelnem was the main town celebration on the day of the uprising in honor of the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Mokronos unit, OF and the uprising. The Mokronos unit unveiled the monument and was granted the domicile of the municipality of Trebnje.

    The ceremonial speaker was Franta Komelj, who as one of her fighters outlined the significance and role of the Mokronos unit. He emphasized that we currently rely too little on the experiences from the NOB, then the unit unveiled the monument, which was made by a participant of the Trebnje camp of artistic self-organized groups Bečir Beganovič from Ripač near Bihač; he received a special recognition from the municipality of Trebnje.

   With the aim of preserving and strengthening the heroic traditions of the national liberation struggle, the mayor of Trebnje, Tone Žibert, granted the Mokronos unit the domicile certificate, which was taken over by the commander of the Mokronos unit, Jože Nose-Špan.»
