Boris Kidrič was born on 10 April 1912 in Vienna. In 1941 he joined the national liberation army and was one of the organizers of the Liberation Front of the Slovene Nation. He participated in the Council of Delegates of the Slovene Nation in Kozje. After the war, in 1945, he became the first president of the Slovene government. He died on 11 April 1953 in Belgrade. Already on 12 April 1953, the Executive Council of the People's Republic of Slovenia named the Tovarno glinice and aluminija school and settlement, which today bears his name, after him.

On 22 April 1973, the Community of Kidričevo, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the revolutionary's death, installed a monument in the memorial park between the Mercator store and Tovarniška Street. Residents of Kidričevo contributed one third of the funds themselves, while a significant share came from the Tovarna glinice and aluminija Boris Kidrič Kidričevo. The monument is the work of the academic sculptor Viktor Gojkovič and one of the first public monuments by this author. Gojkovič created the portrait in an academic style with an archaic smile.

In the first days of 2011, the portrait of Boris Kidrič was stolen. The society Talum commissioned the sculptor Gojkovič to create a new portrait and intended to return it to the original location in the municipality of Kidričevo. The mayor of the municipality of Kidričevo did not agree with the ceremony of the reinstallation of the portrait, so the society Talum decided to install it in front of their administrative building.

Sculpture
Boris Kidrič before the Talum administrative building, which they installed on 20 May 2011. The sculpture is based on the existing original model of the sculptor Viktorja Gojkovič, which stood in the memorial park in the centre of the settlement and was stolen in 2011. The base of the new sculpture was designed by the renowned Slovenian designer Vladimir Pezdirc.

In
the courtyard there is still Kidrič's sculpture.
