Andrej Cetinski-Lev, grave, Ljubljana-Žale

Andrej Cetinski-Lev was a worker prior to the Second World War. In 1941, he was among the organizers of NOB on Kočevski, and in 1942 he became a member of KPS. In December 1942, he went to Cankarjevo Brigade, where he became the commander of a unit, then the battalion commander and deputy commissar of the brigade. In March 1944, he was appointed commander of Zidanškov Brigade, in October of the same year commander of the operational staff of Šlandrove and Zidanškov Brigade, and in March 1945 he was appointed commander of the group of detachments in Styria. In the final operations, he commanded Bračičev Brigade during the liberation of Styria and Carinthia. After the Second World War, he completed the Higher Military Academy of JLA, where he was also a lecturer for some time. He was also commander of the Military District and deputy commander of the army. Holder of the partisan memorial 1941.

The Order of the National Hero was awarded to him in 1953, as well as the Order of the Partisan Star, the Order of Bravery, the Order of Merit to the People, the Order of Brotherhood and Unity, the Order of the People's Army, the partisan memorial 1941, and the partisan cross (Polish award). His statue is one of eight in the Kočevski Park of National Heroes.
