»The secretary of the district committee of the KPS for Kozjansko, Tončka Čečeva, established the first contacts with the neighbouring Croatian liberation movement in June 1942. When on 7 July 1942 the secretary of the OK KP of Croatia for Krapino, Edo Leskovar, arrived from the Croatian side at the public gathering in the tavern Štukl in Virštanje, he was shot by a customs officer and the mayor of Kozje in a clash. In memory of this event, a plaque was placed on the building of the present-day trading company Jelša. (Leskovar's death was mistakenly dated to 23 June 1942.)«
