Memorial plaque for Andrej Permož at the Cultural House St. Johann im Rosental/Šentjanž v Rožu

Andrej Permož was born in 1904 and was a farmer. He played a significant role in the Catholic Slovenian Cultural Society, of which he was also president for several years. From 1943, he was involved in the establishment of the Resistance movement Osvobodilna Fronta (OF) in the Rosental, which led to his arrest in June 1944. Andrej Permož was deported to the Dachau concentration camp, from there to the Natzweiler concentration camp, and had to perform forced labor in various subcamps. The exact circumstances of his death are unknown.
