On a space bounded by 15 cm wide stone edge-rails, forming a square with a side length of 2.5 metres, covered with sand, there is a monument shaped like a five-pointed star with truncated arms of 25 cm in length and 30 cm in thickness, standing on a base of 40 cm in height. It is 130 cm tall. The inscription is carved, but over time it has been covered with moss, and the colour has faded. The text is framed by a motif of a five-pointed star carved into the front surface. It is made of light marble.
The monument was unveiled in 1978 and stands on a lawn near the Polish road, and is thus well visible from the road leading to the settlement Dednik, on the right side of the lawn. In the past, regular commemorative events were held at this monument with the collaboration of students, socio-political organisations, members of JLA and locals. Nowadays, the monument is somewhat forgotten. The locals take care of it.
In October 2021, Franc Štibernik restored the monument and the inscription.

V Dednik pridemo po cesti, ki se v bližini šole Mohorje odcepi v naselje, do tja pa, ali iz Roba po isti cesti, ali pa s cestne povezave Nova vas-Karlovica. V Dedniku nadaljujete pot mimo nove brunarice na polje do spomenika, 150 m od zadnjih hiš.
