Memorial Plaque of the Camp of Stolen Children, Saldenburg, Germany

In the independent tower of the castle on the hill above the village of Saldenburg, a memorial plaque is located at the entrance to the building, in memory of children who were stolen from Slovenia during World War II. At this place were girls aged between 6 and 14 years. The memorial consists of an upper plate on which a mother with a child in her arms is depicted, and in front of the lower part is depicted a German soldier with spread and raised arms, who wishes to take the child from the mother. The creator of the figures and plates is Drago Tršar. The unveiling of the memorial took place on 30th July 2016, which was mainly organized and financed by Deutsches Jugendherbergswerk Landesverband Bayern e.V. Munich / German Youth Hostel Association Bavarian Association Munich / building owner in cooperation with the Municipality of Saldenburg.
