At the initiative of Jakob Nemec, the Society of Peasant Boys and Girls was founded in September 1925. It was led by Lojze Zadravec. The most significant contributions to the development of this society were made by the brothers Bratko, Ivan, and Vladimir Kreft, as well as Ivan Nemec-Vojko. In 1939, members built the Matija Gubča House with their own resources. On the façade of the building there is a commemorative plaque; it was unveiled on the 40th anniversary of the ZKJ and the 20th anniversary of the house on 11 October 1959.
