National Hero Max Pečar - Andrej was born on October 10, 1907, in Dobrava near Črnuče. He studied masonry. A member of the KPJ since 1932, he established a party organization and participated in the community Svoboda (Freedom) later Vzajemnost (Mutual Help). In January 1941, he was interned in the concentration camp Ivanjica in Međurecje. In June 1941, he joined a partisan group of Črnuški Communists under Dobon, then Rašiški Detachment and served as its political commissioner. On September 29, 1941, he fell in battle against the Germans on Selu near Vodiche. A commemorative plaque was erected at his birthhouse; it was unveiled on June 20, 1954.
