The memorial represents a standing stone - a stela made of light grey stone, measuring 1.50 x 0.40 x 0.20 m, in which the names (with errors: OSEM TALCEV was corrected to 9 TALCEV) of nine talcev are engraved, and the space is enclosed with concrete pillars and a metal bar, measuring 3 x 2 m. It was discovered on 22. 7. 1959.
Borci Rob, Rodič, Jager, Pelko, Udovič, Turk, Makovec and Kajič were captured on 22.1.1943 in the area of Škocjana - Šmarjet in the operation 2.bat.MVAC and 2. bat. ital. polka COMO.
Borci Vadnjal, Strojan and Dovč were captured on 21. 1. 1943 by MVAC and Italian forces at the railway bridge crossing in Tlakah near Šmarj Sap. Dovč was shot the following day, 22. 1. 1943, in Grosuplj. The others (except Kajič Slavka, son of Lojzeta and Marija Maček, born 5. 11.1904, partizan of Gubčeve brigade) were all shot on 12. 2. 1943 on Čelesnikovi njivi, not far from the present location of the memorial site near the settlement Velika Ligojna.
ROB Ivan, Slovenian poet, born 17. aug. 1908 in Trieste, student of Slavic philology, on the terrain in Žalovče he worked as a radio reporter and other propaganda material for Cankarjeve brigade.
