The memorial represents a carved stone pyramid-shaped stele, placed on a stone base of dimensions 150 x 50 x 30 cm, above which rises a pyramid, 2.5 m high, on which the names are carved on the lower half, while on the upper half, below the apex, is a star of size 32 cm, partially covered by roses and vines made of cast iron, in black color.
The memorial is the work of architects Jože Plečnik and Anton Rus in the year 1952, and in the year 1990 it was moved to its current location, which is close to the wall of the Mercator building, on the side facing Tržaška Street.
