Albina Prašelj Jercog

"Albina Prašelj was born on 20th July 1912 in Dolina, her father was Josip Prašelj, and her mother was Jožica Rojc. In the family were also her brother Slavko and her sister Edi, who is still alive and resides in Milje. The family lived in Brcah. Albina married Cvetomir Jercog in Dolina and on 27th April 1936 gave birth to a son, who was named Ausonio, but at home they called him Sonja. Albina was first a housewife, later she sold cigarettes and tobacco in a small shop opposite her home.

Albina was also devoted to the ideals of the Liberation Front and worked for the partisans. She was a courier. The Collottijevci had been harassing her for a long time. On 1st November 1944, when she was caught, she was carrying partisan mail to Trieste, although all had strongly advised her not to go, but the feeling of duty was stronger. They took her to Coroneo and tortured her. Later she ended up in the Rižarni, where she passed away on 30th November 1944."
