On the last day of February 1945, Joško Talanyi-Janez left with a patrol, in which were also Franček Majcen, Štefan Zelenko and Štefan Bakan, all fighters of the 1st Prekmurje partisan unit. On the way back from the terrain from the direction of Bogojina to the unit's encampment, the partisan patrol encountered a Hungarian garrison. In the fight, Joško Talanyi-Janez was mortally wounded. The body of the dead partisan was taken by the Hungarians to the cemetery in Dobrovnik, where they stripped him naked and buried him. After the war, he was exhumed and now rests in the cemetery of fallen fighters at the cemetery in Murska Sobota.
A memorial plaque, enclosed by posts, was installed by the municipal committee ZZB NOV Murska Sobota and unveiled on 4th July 1980.
