On
A forced partisan hospital was organized in Komenski Dobravi in April 1944, led by Dr. Tine Zajc – Miha. Alongside the doctor, two nurses, a political commissar, two couriers, and an economist were part of the permanent staff. Usually, there were seven to eight patients or wounded partisans in the hospital.
In
the early morning hours of June 11, 1944, the hospital was suddenly attacked. All the staff and patients were killed and thrown into a burning hospital barrack. Eleven fighters lost their lives, but two were saved, as they were outside the barrack.
After
liberation, the occupiers exhumed the bodies. Four of them were buried by their relatives on the Cerkljanek cemetery and a headstone was placed on their grave.
