Alojz and Rudolf Tisovec, Soteska

Their families learned of her death during the war and found her graves. Alojz Tisovec was a fighter in Levstik's brigade and fell on 2 November 1943 in the village of Luče near Žužemberk together with his comrade Anton Žagar. They were buried in the cemetery in Luče, from where they were transferred on 15 December 1943 as unknown fighters to the new cemetery near the church of Žalna, where 15 unknown and six known fighters were buried between 12 December 1943 and 8 December 1946. Three known fighters and one unknown fighter, for whom the locals identified him as Alojz Tisovec, were later transferred to their family graves. -- Franc Štibernik March 2025
For Rudolf (born in Gorenje Polje, living in Ratež, Brusnice), Sistory states that he was a fighter of the IV. SNOUB of Matija Gubca and that he fell in Gornja Zafari near Žužemberk in a battle with the home guards and Germans.
Alojz (born in Dolenjske Toplice, living in Gorenje Polje) was, according to Sistory, born on 31 January 1911. He was a fighter of the XIX. SNOUB of Srečko Kosovela, fell in a battle with the Germans in Višnja Gora, and was buried in "Luče pri Žalni".
