    »After the fascist forces attacked former Yugoslavia on 9 April 1941
Italian units also occupied the villages of Dovje and Mojstrana. They set up border
posts and settled their people. After the Italian army left, the people
breathed a sigh of relief, but not for long, since instead of them came the Germans.
They expelled some important people and started carrying out arrests from Rateče to Mojstrana.

    The locals felt the sorrow that had settled over them, but they did not see the path out of misfortune. The solution was offered by the awakened Slovene Jakob Rabič from Dovje with his closest collaborators. He met up with friends from before the war, gathered the awakened locals and on Dovje established the Liberation Front. He collected money and goods for the approaching military uprising, organized sabotage. The locals prepared for the uprising, but Jakob went to the Cankarjev battalion for safety. The preparations for the uprising in the area, which was set for 16 December, took place in the greatest secrecy. The first partisans started gathering on Dovje and split into groups. The plan of the uprising was to disarm the military unit on Dovje and the border unit on Veliki breg in Mojstrana. The action started in the evening hours, everything went according to plan. They disarmed the armed men on Dovje, obtained some weapons. After this victory, the partisans continued their path to Mojstrana on Veliki breg and attacked the border military post. A battle broke out and the first fighter, Alojz Rabič from Dovje, who was only twenty-five years old, fell. This was Jakob's brother. At that moment the area fell into darkness.«
