Beltinci - Memorial Plate for Martin Brumnbauer

Birthplace of Martin Brum (11.8.1898-7.6.1945), a Prekmurian partisan and organizer of NOB. The Hungarians arrested him. He was imprisoned in Lendava, Čakovci and Györs. When he returned from imprisonment in 1942, he fled across the Mura to Pohorje. He participated in NOG in mobilizing new recruits and establishing local committees of OF. The Germans captured him, took him to Gradec, and then sent him to the Mauthausen camp, where he remained until the end of the war. After returning home, he died on 7 June 1945. The memorial plaque was unveiled on 4 July 1963, after the local committee of ZZB NOV Beltinci had erected it.
