Ambulanta E, Konjska dolina

The establishment of this sanitary post in January 1944 is connected with the wounded and sick of the 3rd Battalion of Prešeren Brigade, which was attacked by the enemy on Pokljuk. For the needs of the wounded, a clandestine barrack was built above Podjelje, in the forest above Jereško (Konjska dolina); it could accommodate up to 15 wounded, and was named Ambulanta E. It received the wounded from Pokljuk and Bohinjski kot. Ambulanta E was initially led by Jože Ravnik-Izidor; the doctor was Ivan Hribernik-Matjaž, and the first nurse was Marija Ravnik - Rosvita. Ambulanta E operated until the liberation in May 1945 and during a year and a half cared for over 100 wounded and sick.

The object of the ambulanta above Konjska dolina was set up by two activists of OF, the housewife Jakob Bernik and Anton Stare, in May 1944.

A replica of the wooden partisan hospital, re-erected and unveiled on 29 September 1984.
