On the communal concrete wall, 1.20 m high, there is a concrete slab, size 1.00 x 2.00 m, on which, in the centre, there is a concrete slab of size 0.40 x 0.40 m, in which there is a five-pointed star, size 0.20 m, composed of red broken stone chips. Under this slab, on the supporting slab, there is a stylized Triglav, composed of broken stone chips, which has at its highest point two three-pointed stars without stars, just as it is composed of coloured stone chips. Above the highest point of Triglav there is a stone slab, size 0.40 x 0.50 m, made of light stone, with an engraved message that at this place the battalion of the (national) defence attacked an Italian military unit and defeated it.
The monument was unveiled in 1957.
Hrastenice Hud defeated the Italians on 7. 5.1942. The battalion of NZ from Hruševec, under the command of NZ commander Fran Riharj-Radovan, attacked an Italian column in Hrastenice. It was returning from Ključ, where it attacked a partisan camp. Thirty-two Italians fell, including Colonel Latini, and seventy-two were wounded.

Spomenik je lociran v vasi Gabrje ob glavni cesti Dobrova – Polhov Gradec, 4,4 km iz Dobrove in sicer v bližini hiš Gabrje 31A in Gabrje 31 ter Hrastenice 1 in Hrastenice 1A. Spomenik je na nepreglednem ovinku, nevarnost naleta vozila.
