BABNA GORA 8 - Memorial to the Executive Committee of the Liberation Front (IO OF)

A stone slab made of granite, of a grey colour, of size approximately 0,60 x 0,80 m, with an engraved message, is attached around 0,60 m from the ground in a concrete supporting wall, on the right side of the approach to the so-called Glažarjeve hiše. It was originally uncovered in 1951.

From November 1942 to the beginning of April 1943, operations took place in the area of Dolomitov, which was the operational area of the Dolomitski odred, the main command of the Slovenian partisan units, the executive committee of OF and the central committee of KPS. Due to this, the main command of the Dolomitski odred did not include the internal operational zone, but rather reinforced it with one battalion of this zone, in order to "establish" in the Vrhniški area a stronger group, which would, through its activities, divide the enemy's attention over a larger sector.
