Main Command of the Partisan Units, Šiška

Jože Plečnik (architect; 1949), Milan Arnež / Plečnikova šola (architect; 1953), Vladimira Bratuž / Plečnikova šola (sculptor; 1953)

A rectangular stone plaque with an engraved inscription and a bronze star made from interwoven bodies above it (Plečnikova šola, 1953) is attached to the house in which the Main Command of the Slovenian Partisan Units was established on 22 June 1941. The plaque was unveiled on 22 July 1953.

Note 1:
Mojca Luštrek in August 2024 reports that the houses on Vodnikova 27 are no longer there. The fate of the plaque is unknown. On photo 3/1, the neighbouring yellow house Vodnikova 21a is in the background. The Google image 3/2 was taken in 2022.

Response from ZVKD Ljubljana 10. 11. 2025: "ZVKDS, OE Ljubljana received your question regarding the memorial plaque of the Main Command of the Slovenian Partisan Units (NOV and POS), which was located on the eastern facade of the house at address Vodnikova cesta 27, 1000 Ljubljana. We inform you that the plaque was removed due to the demolition of the building it was located on, safely deposited and awaiting reinstallation, in accordance with the designed project for the new placement on the new construction or near it. / Aleksandra Renčelj Škedelj" -- Based on this information, I changed the status of the monument to "deposited" -- M.
