The municipality of Grad, the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SAZU), and the Dr. Šiftar Foundation unveiled a commemorative plaque on Thursday, October 9, 2025, in Dolnje Slaveče – the birthplace of academic dr. Anton Vratuša – on the 110th anniversary of his birth.
Academic dr. Anton Vratuša, scientist, diplomat, journalist, politician, fighter for the Liberation of the Homeland (NOB), fighter for human rights, and honorary citizen of the municipality of Grad, was closely connected throughout his life with his Prekmurje. His work and thoughts remain an inspiration for future generations.
