Dragomir Benčič – Brkin was born in Pula
and as a student of the Ljubljana Technical Faculty he participated in advanced student movements. In April 1941 he joined the volunteers for the defence of the homeland. In June of the same year he joined the NOB and in spring 1942 he went to the partisans in Notranjsko. During the battles he was wounded several times. He was admitted to the KPS and in the NOV he was political commissar in various units. After the end of the war he held important positions.
In the list of Victims he is listed as Dragomir.
