Immediately after the Italian capitulation, already in October 1943, units of Nazi Germany launched a major offensive on Senožeškem with the surrounding area. The aim was to destroy the headquarters of the IX. Corps. During this offensive, thirteen fighters fell in the area of Dolenje village and the hills. One of them was Franc Gustinčič from Senožeče, the others were from all parts of "our homeland". According to the accounts in the literature, thirteen fighters were supposedly killed in total, but the monument lists fourteen fallen. At the place where they fell, the Union of Fighters NOV Senožeče unveiled a monument on 2 June 1983. The fighters, however, were no longer lying in the Milharjev garden, as this area is called, since they had already been moved in 1953 to the Senožeško cemetery. There is a grave marker arranged there, which was later also renovated.
