BOVEC-Memorial to Tigers, Partisans, and Coastal Lovers

In 1999, the first memorial dedicated not exclusively to NOB was discovered in Bovec. The memorial in Bovec, created by sculptor Jakov Brdarj, is a bronze sculpture of a cip in a stylized human likeness.[1] It is located on the green space in front of the health center, just off the main street through Bovec. A plaque next to the memorial reads "Tigrovcem, partizanom in vsem primorskim rodoljubom" (By Tiger Boys, Partisans, and All Lovers of the Coast). The official celebration upon its discovery took place on a Sunday, September 26, 1999, in the presence of Bovec's mayor Siniša Grmovšek and Minister for Culture Jože Školč.[2] The ceremonial unveiling was carried out by Franc Kavs from Čezsoče, one of the still living Tiger Boys at that time.[2]
