A rectangular granite plaque with an engraved inscription is dedicated to Anton Cerk
the pioneer, who was born in this house. The plaque was erected on the eastern, front
facade of the house. It was unveiled in 1965.
Anton Cerk was born on 31.01.1907. He was admitted to the KPS in 1939.
He joined the partisan movement in December 1941 under the partisan name Miha
(also known as Martin). At the same time, two more partisans joined: Janez
Veršnik – Rok and Mikuž Pavle – Bolte. He participated in the operation of the 14th
division in Styria. He died on 20.12.1963. He was buried in the cemetery in Borovnica.
Modest, as he was, his records of his partisan journey are also modest.
Today, the street in Borovnica named after Anton Cerk – Miha is called Cerkova ulica.
