"Julija last year, at the age of 92, Janž Čop, a known Slovenian biologist and hunter, died. He was born on Jesenicah, on Ukovi, and during the Second World War, the partisan radio station also operated from his home. Although he lived in Ljubljana from his studies onwards, he was buried on Blejska Dobrava, where his parents Franc and Frančiška, as well as his wife Anča, also found their final resting place. Since the entire Čop family was partisan and nationally conscious, Janž's father Franc fell in 1945, just before the end of the Second World War. His daughters also had a small red star carved into the memorial on the grave.

But last week, shortly after the holiday of remembrance for the dead, they came to the grave and were shocked to find that the red star had been repainted black. Polonca Čop Finka said that this act shocked them with their sister. Not only is it an act of intrusion on private property, but, in her opinion, it is a desecration on a symbolic level, an insult to the memory of their father and grandfather. 'One cannot just repaint the red star on the memorial. For me, such a person is a fascist!' said Čop's daughter Polonca. With her sister, they reported this to the police, who made a report, but the perpetrator is probably never going to be found. The Čop daughters will clean the star and repaint it red again. As Polonca Čop Finka says, with her sister, they want to make it clear through the publication in the magazine that such acts are unacceptable, and that it is sad that today's social climate is so negative that even the red star on the grave could mislead someone."
