The memorial consists of a semicircular wall made of roughly carved stone, in which a stone plaque with an inscription and a stylized stone water spout are embedded, symbolizing the indestructibility of life through flowing water. The memorial was designed by Franc Šubelj and was erected on 9 September 1956.
The Grabrovčani on 13 November 1944, when the Ustaši attacked Metlika, for three days provided shelter to the escaped Metličans.
