Češča vas, Memorial Park of the Fallen Fighters

Memorial park consists of 19 wooden pillars with the names of fallen fighters inscribed on them
and a rock with two stone plaques dedicated to the fallen fighters of Krška unit and
the fallen from Češče village.

Note 1: After the revelation of the true role of the "Štajerski bataljon" (Styrian battalion) from Kvizlin, it was
only this unit that quickly withdrew from Šentjošt and took position near Prečna.
The partisans found out and attacked them without waiting for night and reinforcement.
During the day, the partisans descended from Straški hill, so that the belogardists could see them and set up a ambush at the edge of the forest. Fighting ensued. The partisans withdrew towards Temenica. On the battlefield, 17 partisans were killed and several seriously wounded, two of them drowned in Temenica, while the seriously wounded Lojzeta Kastelica was found by the villagers from Češče village and taken to safety on Brezovo reber.

Spominski park leži med potokom in cesto Novo mesto - Zalog, na blago padajočem pobočju proti jugozahodni strani. 90 metrov pred Češčo vasjo se odcepi kolovoz proti gozdu na desni strani. Na samem robu gozda se nahaja spominski park.
