In the memorial plaque is inscribed to a surviving pilot, thanking also the hosts of Vasi Boršta, who hid him and did not surrender him to the German army.
The memorial consists of a high metal fence with inscribed panels and a sculpture of a fallen soldier (M. Vidmar 1997). It was placed near the end of the field where on January 30, 1945, an American pilot landed from a plane that had been falling; the hosts subsequently hid him and helped him.
From here begins the path of memory to the bunker beneath the hill Hrpeljci. In this bunker, the city command of Koper operated until February 8, 1945.

Iz vasi Truške proti vasi Boršt na levi strani ceste. Spominsko obeležje je postavljeno desno ob cesti Boršt - Zabavlje, na kraju, kjer se začenja pot spomina na srečno rešitev, ki je urejena do bližnjega kraja v spodnjem gozdu, med Vršičem in Borštom.
