Danimir Ažman, Lajše

Memorial at Pod češpljami near Strmolovcu is dedicated to the fighter of Prešern's brigade Danimir Ažman - Črtomir from Kranj, who fell on August 3, 1943. The memorial, located under the road Spodnje–Zgornje Lajše, was unveiled in 1976.

The route through Selških Lajš, Jamnika and Krope towards Radovljica was used by the partisans as the most convenient passage between the upper part of Gorenjska and Primorsko already from 1942, so the occupier frequently established checkpoints along this route.

On August 3, 1943, in the late afternoon, a partisan patrol from Krope fell into the German-domobranska checkpoint above the church in Lajše and Lobnikarjevo house. In the checkpoint five partisans lay – among them was Danimir Ažman - Črtomir from Kranj.
