The statue of Edvard Kardelj was erected in 1980 in the courtyard of the Maribor Pedagogical Faculty. The author of the statue was the academic sculptor Stojan Batič. Later, the monument was removed and is today housed in the museum of the National Liberation Museum in Maribor.
