EŠD 21511 - memorial object, site of historical event.
The memorial sign consists of a stone block to which a weathered stone plaque is attached, measuring 60 x 40 cm and painted in gray with an embedded inscription. All together, it stands on a low mound covered with stones and filled with sand along a forest path leading towards Tolstega peak or Slemen. The memorial was discovered in 1977.
"Friškovec Jože, mailman at TV - 17 on Ljubljanka Hill. He was born on Drenova grič near Vrhnika. In the last days of October 1943, he went to the water reservoir in the vicinity of Tolstega peak. He encountered a German-Home Guard patrol that wounded him with gunfire as they were guarding the area. Then Home Guardsmen and German soldiers (likely Cherkizy) smashed his head with a rifle butt. The Home Guards led K.M. from the village to Verda."

Between the Mlinarjev memorial and Friškovec's marker, about 400 meters from Mlinarjev's memorial on the left side of the railway we are still following for another 80 meters, there are remnants of a water reservoir on the right, i.e., "dry four" in the former Rupnik defensive line along which partisans walked through the water. The occupier and their collaborators, the Home Guards, anticipated this and often set up ambushes, one of which claimed Friškovec's life.

Textual location description
Od spomenika Mlinar Ivanu nadaljujemo pot po cesti v smeri Pokojišča še okoli en kilometer. Ko pridemo do križišča poti, od katerih gre ena pot naravnost proti Pokojišču in druga na levo in navkreber, gremo po njej in po okoli 160 m pridemo do spominskega obeležja Jožetu Friškovcu, ki je na desnem robu poti.
