Franc Hribernik - Stane

Memorial stone at the cleared cemetery is dedicated to Franc Hribernik - Staneta. It was unveiled in 1961.

On the night of 30 April to 1 May 1945, partisans in Bodoveljska grapi captured two couriers from G-13 a. During the torture, they revealed the location of G-15 post and the headquarters of the intelligence center for Škofja Loka, and partisans were brought there, who attacked the couriers and intelligence officers at 5 a.m. Franc Hribernik fell, his sister Francka Hribernik was seriously wounded. The others managed to escape safely.

Franc Hribernik was born on 24 October 1918 in Puštala. Before joining the NOB, he was a mizar in Gorenjska predilnica in Škofja Loka. He was a trade union delegate and a member of the Jugoslovenska strokovna zveza. He began actively participating in the national liberation movement in winter 1941. On 6 June 1943, he joined the Škofjeloška četa, where he became an intendant. Upon the establishment of the 1st (Tomaževega) battalion of the Gorenjski odred in early February 1944, he was the assistant intendant of Ivan Čemažar - Brdavsa. After his death on 30 March 1944, he became the battalion intendant. In autumn 1944, he was transferred to the intelligence center Škofja Loka of the Gorenjsko vojno področje. He carried out this duty until his death.

He was initially buried at Zovščah (Puštala), where this memorial stone stands. Now he rests in the family grave at the old Škofjeloški cemetery.

 Stane Hribernik (born in 1940 in Puštala 9), Puštal 106, 4220 Škofja Loka, son of the fallen Franc Hribernika - Staneta, has repeatedly turned to ZB Škofja Loka with a request to renew and arrange the grave, which had been overgrown with grass. They argued that there are already enough memorials, that the name of Franc Hribernik - Stane is written on the memorial stone at Brnkovi Pstoti, and that it is no longer there (it had been only three weeks, when they had him together with the atom buried at the City Cemetery in Škofja Loka), but they also promised to renew the inscription. Since this did not happen, he decided approximately two years ago to take the stone home. He still intends to personally renew the inscription on it (still this year), and then to place it on an appropriate spot somewhere on the grassy area near his house at Puštal 106.
