Memorial Plate on the Old Castle
The memorial plate on the old castle testifies to the difficult battles that the 13th Brigade of Mirko Bračič led on 16.12.1944 in this area against the Germans and Ustashe. The plate was unveiled on 18.8.1974. Source: Vodnik po partizanskih poteh, p.581.
Note 1: The plate has indeed been removed and is indeed stored in the building of the Kozjansko žari exhibition (Planina pri Sevnici 37). Anton Špan showed it to us and confirmed that it will be returned to the old castle when the opportunity arises.
