Event description:
On 2nd July 1942, a German soldier shot himself in the leg by accident. At the German gendarmerie, he claimed that the partisans had shot him. The following day, at 6 a.m., they were taken to Gramoznica, where the memorial now stands, to five half-dressed men and executed them at the spot.
The Gestapo first demanded the talces from the commander of the gendarmerie post in Podbrezje, but he refused to cooperate. More luck was on the side of the kovorski municipal commissioner. He went himself to show the houses from which the Germans should collect the talces.
The memorial was erected by the local committee of ZB NOV Podbrezje and unveiled in October 1960.
